« Übersee, exploring visual culture », was a magazine edited in 2003. It’s seems that it only lasted a year. In a time when Pinterest or Instagram didn’t exist yet, the german publication curated pictures from graphic design, photography, illustration, architecture… No advertising, only images and few texts concerning the artists invited.
The year after, Facebook was launched and the imaged-based crazy e-world was in progress. Even though, many printed image-only publications are still published today, just look at your bookstore in your contemporary art museum or in the concept store next to you. Many very edgy fashion magazine or with a different approach, think Toilet Paper, are a sum of curated images editorialised.
