Étiquette : New York city
Art | Georgia O’Keeffe
I « met » Georgia O’Keeffe this summer at the Met of New York city. An experience similar, as striking as my discovery of Mark Rothko a few years ago.

O’Keeffe conjure up images of flower petals and human anatomy…

Black Place II, oil on canvas, 1944
« The Black Place » was the name O’Keeffe gave to one of her favorite painting sites in New Mexico, a place of desolate hills.
Ace Hotel NYC, a typographic journey
Ace Hotel NYC, 20 West 29th Street
In Midtown Manhattan the wholesalers slowly leave the place to trendy boutiques like Maison Kitsuné. In a couple of year Midtown Manhattan will be the next spot for the trendsetters. Ace choose the heart of this district to open one of their hotel where the history of a building meets design and arts.
At Ace NYC I like the use of (what it seems to be) Akzidenz-Grotesk font for the signings. I like the graphic design feeling that Roman & Williams, the firm which design the interiors, gave to this place.
It is all about typo.

Karolina succeed in dragging me in this afro party at Fix’n’Fiddle, one the best after work spots in New York. At 1 AM when we arrive the place was crowded and the music really loud.
This series of photos was an idea of Karolina, she needed them for a publication.
The bar was plunged into darkness, Karolina had never used a reflex camera before then and i never use flash with my old 5D camera, so the exercice was tricky but fun. The surprise was this explosion of metallic colors, blue, green and red, which give a good idea of the atmosphere of the party.

This is not streetstyle | I got the swag
This is not streetstyle | Perfect match
Does this girl from midtown district always match her outfits with her sneakers before going to the gym (honestly who doesn’t do it?)?
New York inspires… Shake Shack !
Chers lecteurs,
une heure de queue…
No mistake, it’s more a good place to eat a very good burger than a fashionable place to be.
Shake Shack start in 2004 then spread around the city. If you wanna test it when in NYC, be prepared, come with friends or a good book/iPad (internet is free in the square) because in Madison’s square it’s one hour queuing!
New York inspires… No queen blues
In New-York City, wandering between Meatpacking and Soho, the music of avant-garde alternative rock band Sonic Youth is screaming inside my head.
Nine
New York City, 9 on 57th street
After two days working with the french digital team of Louis Vuitton (and meet the US team) for the coverage of Yayoi Kusama various events in New-York City, it’s time to have a break.
It had been nine years that I had not come to Big Apple! Last two days it was all Carrie Bradshaw-like women on the Vth avenue! It’s now time to leave the pleasant Hotel Chambers and to move to SoHo. Let’s go downtown!
