PFW | Wooyoungmi, joyful elegance

Wooyoungmi, summer spring 2013, Paris

Prints are back on the runways for several seasons now in women collection. It’s the same, more quietly, with men. More than just the plaid shirt, this summer we can already find beautiful printed pants in almost every collections (from fast-fashion retailer to high-fashion houses).

The two korean sisters Woo Youngmi and Woo Janghee, designers of Wooyoungmi love prints and put them everywhere for next summer.

The result is a very arty-60 collection. Peacefulness, intellectual, jazzy, sophisticated… are words which come to your mind. But there is no nostalgia, these are clothes for today, well thought and well balanced. Fitted pants, short jackets and geometric pattern flirting sometimes with an ethnic style.

The masculine silhouette designed by two women is mostly design for a sensitive urban boy seeking for a joyful elegance.

It is not surprising to learn that Wooyoungmi is working with and support various artists as they strongly believe in the link between art and fashion. Each season an artist is invited to interpret the collection. His work will be used for the advertising campain and be exhibited.

Korean designers demonstrate once again (think of Juun J) that menswear need to rely on them for the future.

Seoul express, Lie Sang Bong party’s at Club Eden

For the Lie Sang Bong party we found ourselves at club Eden near of hotel Ritz. A fabulous night after a full day of fashion shows…

A bit cheesy… There was this girl, a K-Pop singer (here after her set with an hip-hop crew).

Then this H.I.P-H.O.P-Break dance battle

However very connected, the seoulites seems sometimes very nostalgic. During the fashion week, some shows were showing vintage inspiration (from the beginning of 20th century). This were a bit annoying in fact, because it was nothing new, like khaki bermudas and polos…

Below are two beautiful connected ladies with a 1920′-1930′ inspiration.

And no this is not a Wong Kar-Wai movie…

Today, in the middle of the crowd, with our mobiles phones we are not « alone » anymore. Stay connected!

Club B1 | Join our club

After a day full of work, shows and interviews, we left the Samsung Digital Center for the place to be that night…

It was my second night in Seoul, me and my new friends were wandering in Itaewon quarter. We finally has the good idea to take the stairs down to the Club B1.

Action was already here when we get in, the electro music was fine and the people kind and crazy. As usual in Paris or anywhere else, we close the club…

Seoul !

I just spent 6 fantastic days in Seoul in order to attend the fashion week. Warm welcome, perfect organization, rich meetings and marvellous food (I took 3 kg), it is primarily a dive into fashion of one of the most dynamic countries of Asia.

Break the frame, Lie Sang Bong

« Brake the frame » a teaser from Lie Sang Bong

I’m flying to Seoul tomorrow, excited to discover the fashion scene which brought us well known designers Juun J., Songzio or Lie Sang Bong. Five days to discover the new talents, as the rising star Nohke J or Jain Song and pushButton.

I bring with me Nazine magazine (issue 4), an edgy korean fashion magazine i bought this summer.

Open your mind.
