His glamorous amazons goes back and forth on the runway without any constraints, they are beautiful, bold and gold, some of them, like the girl in James Bond’ Goldfinger are totally dress in gold.

The colour palette from white to creme is very soft leaving gold and embroideries full room to express themselves.

The result is compelling. How can you resist to these girls?

Paddings are almost everywhere as the V of Vauthier (V for Victory?) in the dangerous necklines, the cuts and the accessories (see the earrings below).

The show is nearly perfect, each silhouette is stunning and leave you amazed and speachless. The sexual powered silhouette, the eighties, the show business, as the former assistant of Thierry Mugler, Alexandre Vauthier is giving is own personnal touch of this symbols fully used by his master. At this game is actually the best in town.

Combining the European crisis and a slowdown in China, the luxury market is gonna get weaker. Does Alexandre Vauthier superwoman has a future? What the next move?

 

 


PFW AW12 | Jan Taminiau, more than a woman

Waoow!

Then the first model of Jan Taminiau show appears on the runway of Le Laboratoire and it was a big waoow!

The girls are tall, very tall, unreachable beauty. Perched on very very high embroidered heels  (an hybrid shoes that both Lady Gaga and Daphne Guiness would appreciate) wearing embroidered silk veil cocktail dresses and a helmet (!) the girls seems to be a modern incarnation of Athena or coming from an other planet. The daughter of Barbarella going at a party or think Elie Saab meets Daft Punk.

With the helmets and the shoes, it could seems an other fashion cliché crazyness, but it’s not. The dress are real, more for parties of course (he took inspiration from Studio 54 during the seventies) than your everyday work. Today, Jan Taminiau is making made to measure garments for his individual clients (mostly european).

He talked about is obsession of duality, symbolized (i suppose), by the softness of the dresses versus the boldness of the helmets. This collection is also a dialogue between masculinity and feminity.

The woman of Jan Taminiau is bigger than life, a goddess (his words), she is more than a woman.

Bouchra Jarrar | La sensualité de la quadrature du cercle…

Rendre sensuelles des lignes géométriques, des droites, des angles aigus et des obliques. Comme la quadrature du cercle, mission impossible ?

Bouchra Jarrar depuis sa Collection n°1 y réussi à merveille. Ses lignes viennent s’appliquer gracieusement, suggérer la courbe d’une hanche ou d’un sein. La ligne graphique soulignée par un biais écru dans le modèle ci-dessus, suit naturellement les formes du modèle et ne contraint nullement la fluidité de la matière.

Revue de détails

Haute Couture ? Non. On parle aujourd’hui de prêt-à-porter de luxe ou de sur-mesure, du concret, plus adapté à son époque.

Donne moi un V…

Les coupes et les fentes laissent apercevoir la taille ou une épaule. Pas très Va Va Voum ces Vestales, mais elle vous donnent tout de même le Vertige. Dans un bizarre love triangle(1), portant collier-plastron Volontaire, elles offrent leur nombril au sommet d’une encolure V plongeant elle même vers d’autre triangle Voluptueux…

Dans les silhouettes ci-dessus on devine à la fois Piet Mondrian, Chanel (pour la bichromie noir/blanc) voire Jean-Louis Scherrer pour la géométrie (où la créatrice à fait un passage éclair).

Couture | Effet de manches chez Lefranc-Ferrant

Il fait frais au Palais de Tokyo où s’est déroulé le show de Lefranc-Ferrant. Non pas que la température extérieure ait baissée, bien au contraire, mais tout simplement parce que le défilé auquel on a assisté est une collection été 2011 calée dans le calendrier automne-hiver 2010 ! Du court, des couleurs et des matières estivales, c’est une habitude chez Lefranc-Ferrant que de défiler avec décalage.

Les silhouettes sans audace particulière,  sont pimpantes et très parisiennes, col relevé et manches retroussées.

Arrêtons-nous sur un détail toutefois, la tête de manche de certains modèles de cette saison. Observons la couture de l’arrondi d’épaule placé beaucoup plus bas que de coutume. Le genre de détail que l’on ne peut voir qu’au sein des backstages.

Béatrice Ferrant, propose de la baptiser la « Manche LF » (manche Lefranc-Ferrant)!

J’ai collectionné les publicités Chanel avec Inès de la Fressange (IDLF). Alors quand je la croise dans mon Monop’ ou comme hier avant d’entrer au show Couture de Jean-Paul Gaultier elle me « donne » son plus beau sourire, évidemment je fonds…

Ci-dessous, collants sans pieds « Tour Eiffel », un hommage à Paris comme souvent dans les créations de Jean-Paul Gaultier. Depuis plusieurs saisons, les collants couture de la maison Jean-Paul Gaultier sont très graphiques.
